The death was duly reported by me to the deceased's mother on the 11th ultimo, when I forwarded to her the jewellery left by the deceased. I attach a copy of my letter of 11th September, 1899.
The time for creditors and others to send in their claims against the Estate has been limited to the 12th instant; after which date I shall make up the account of the Estate and remit the balance of money in my hands to Mrs Gillies, as promised in paragraph 4 of my letter.
The paper writing of the 11th September 1896, which purports to be a holograph will, is of no effect for the purposes of probate as no Executor is named therein; but I have no doubt Mrs Gillies will carry out the wishes of her deceased son as expressed in that paper.
